As you exercise lactic acid will start building up in your muscles.Lactic Acid is a bi product of the biological processes which takes place while you exercise. The sad problem is, it is not really good for your tiring muscles. In fact, if too much lactic acid forms, it can be quite sore and painful. You won’t feel it immediately but you almost will certainly feel it the following day. If you have put in a lot of effort in your workout then the pain will surely be intense. You may even find it quite hard to move your muscles! Thankfully, it can easy to prevent the build-up of lactic acid if you know how.
How to prevent lactic acid build up.
Amazingly the only way in which you are going to be able to stop lactic acid building up and the burn that you get of this during a workout is by actually working out again. Sadly it really is that simple. When you exercise putting those muscles again to work a chemical known as Lactate starts building up in them. In a normal situation, your muscles will be able to process the Lactate quite quick. However, in sometimes you will be working out so hard and creating so much Lactate that your body won’t have time to eradicate all of it. This is when lactic acid forms. This is where exercising out comes in. The more you work out and the more strenuous you work out the better your body becomes at getting rid of the lactate. If you’re able to rid yourself of lactic fast enough then the lactic acid won’t actually form….or at least only a small amount will.
Does stretching prevent lactic acid build up?
Of course, it doesn’t matter how hard you exercise or workout it is still very important that you take different measures to work off the left over lactic acid in your muscles. You should be starting out by stretching if you’re not already. This will help to eliminate most of it. It will not get completely rid you of it though. You probably still experience some pain afterwards. This is why I suggest that you invest in a muscle roller. Its the best way to get rid of lactic acid in muscles.
